Recent Happenings...

Just thought I'd catch everyone up on the latest news....

Labor Day weekend we went to Lima for a family reunion with cousins from my mom's side of the family. The picnic was organized by my Aunt Linda and it was great seeing everyone. Some of my cousins came from as far away as North Carolina and Virginia while my aunt, uncle and sister, Vangela, drove in from Arizona. I have many fond memories of the time I spent in Lima when I was a kid...that was usually my 'summer vacation; a week or two at my grandma's house. She was the best cook; no one could come close to matching her fried chicken, cherry and rhubarb pies and cheesecake. Anyway, thanks to my aunt for organizing the reunion and hopefully we can continue to get together as the years roll on.

This past weekend Judd picked up his ring for winning the state volleyball championship last May. They recognized the boys at halftime of the Moeller football game, it was great seeing everyone from the team again. The rings are pretty cool and Judd said he doesn't want to wear it around because he doesn't want to scratch it up.

Aaron is back in the job market. He got tired of working at Outback so he is looking for a new employer. If you know of someone in the Mason area who could use a hardworking 17 year old, let us know. He's also decided to not play lacrosse this year. We're kind of bummed about it but he has thought about it for a while and just doesn't want to play this year.

Abbey turns 15 this Friday. That seems hard to believe. She's enjoying high school so far and hasn't had any other injuries on the field hockey field. Her next game is Thursday.

Julie left yesterday for a long, work related trip. She'll be in California for the next 10 days, not returning until September 20. I'm glad this didn't happen a few years ago because it would be a lot tougher with three kids in grade school as opposed to only two at home in high school. This morning went pretty well, hopefully the rest of the time goes as smoothly.

Looking forward to tonight's Bengals game....hopefully they can get off to a great start!

Hope you're all well!!!

Go Bengals and Go Bucks!!

You got it right about Grandma's cooking. I really miss everything she made!!!! Really wish someone would have written down her recipes. Even though most of it would have been "a little of a, a pinch of b, a handful of c, etc." Cannot remember her using a measuring cup or measuring spoons to get the quantity right.
