Happy Birthday to Me....

Yes, today I turn 48 years old! And for the first time in my life, I just received roses for my birthday; I guess that's what happens when your wife is in London for your 'special day'. Tonight, the kids and I will go out for dinner but it won't be the same without our mom. Oh well, she'll be back on Saturday and she doesn't get many chances to go to London (for the record this was her first chance) so she might as well take advantage of it.

I thought about my mom this morning when I woke up. It's been over three years since she died and once again I'm going to miss getting that 'Happy Birthday' phone call. To be honest, there aren't many days when I don't think about her but its especially tough on the birthdays.

I'm kind of in a lull right now. I won't see Dr. Leming again until early December, I still get achy feelings but I've been able to do some excercising recently so that's been nice. It's been almost 6 weeks since I broke my rib; there is still a little soreness but nothing like the first several weeks. I've been able to excercise the past two weeks with little pain.

Our kids are doing well. We need Judd to start getting the college applications in...he's looking at several places including the University of Dayton, if it were my choice that's where he'd end up. Aaron just made first honors in school - I'll let him pick where we go for dinner tonight. And Abbey has decided she'll probably be going to Mount Notre Dame (MND) High School next year. She shadowed at Ursuline Academy yesterday and said 'it was OK but I probably won't go there.' I guess we'll see what she says after she shadows at MND.

It's been a lot of fun following the Buckeyes this year. The group of guys who I watch the games with and I all booked our flights for Phoenix and the BCS championship game which takes place January 8. I don't know what we'll do if OSU loses to Michigan, that would be catastrophic. I guess we'll just have to play a little golf in Arizona if OSU does the unimagineable and loses the season finale.

Other than that, life has been pretty normal for a change. My football team ended their season on Sunday...we had a tough year going 3-6. I'm not sure what I'll do next season; I'd like to continue coaching but I don't know if there will be any spots available. If not, I guess I'll 'retire'.

That's all for now! I'll be sure to keep you all posted! Go Bucks!!!

Happy Birthday Vinnie! It's Bill's moms birthday too. Glad that you're on the mend and able to exercise again. Hope you had a nice birthday dinner with your family. I know that Julie would rather be with you guys tonight.
Please keep us all posted. It's good to hear about your life and your family. You mean so much to so many people.

Say Vinnie!

Happy birthday.... how you doin' down there Norton buh?

Glad to hear your ribs are starting to not hurt... I've never broken a rib but from what I understand it hurts to do just about anything.

My football squad is still alive.... but it's definitely on life supoptr. We have our fiorst lpayoff game Sunday... and the team we play should hand us our butts on platters. I'm really excited about next year though... I have three loudmouth dads who insist they can score 8 touchdowns a game just by drawing up better plays. So next year when they take over the offense, we'll be unstoppable!

Glad to hear you're booked for the National Championship Game. I've checked with Jerrod from Subway, and he said his people are going to get him better seats than yours or he'll be pissed.

Anywhoooo... how are you watching the Michigan game? Are you going up? If so... are you tailgating?

***Bonus*** The random Gary Goetz quote of the day....

"I've only done that twice in my life... once when I was 13, and once this morning... REAL HARD!"

I'll talk to you soon...
